Sarah Favinger, a professional double bassist in New York City, turned to running as a way to manage her anxiety and the stress of her college music programs. Although she failed her first masters recital, renewed focus and confidence through running helped her rebound and pass with flying colors on her second try. Now a successful performer and experienced marathoner, Sarah serves as a running coach and mentor for the non-profit Girls on the Run, helping pre-teen girls find confidence, strength and community through training for and completing their first 5k races.
